How to Live a Victorious Christian Life

Jesus stresses the importance of living in victory and overcoming all temptations and trials. In Revelation 2-3, he ends His warning to the seven churches with phrases like,  “To everyone who is victorious …” :

1. To everyone who is victorious I will give fruit from the tree of life in the paradise of God. Revelation 2:7.

2. Don’t be afraid of what you are about to suffer. The devil will throw some of you into prison to test you. You will suffer for ten days. But if you remain faithful even when facing death, I will give you the crown of life. Revelation 2:10.

3. Whoever is victorious will not be harmed by the second death. Revelation 2:11.

4. To everyone who is victorious I will give some of the manna that has been hidden away in heaven. And I will give to each one a white stone, and on the stone will be engraved a new name that no one understands except the one who receives it. Revelation 2:17.

5. To all who are victorious, who obey me to the very end, To them I will give authority over all the nations They will rule the nations with an iron rod and smash them like clay pots. They will have the same authority I received from my Father, and I will also give them the morning star!  Revelation 2:26-28.

6. All who are victorious will be clothed in white. I will never erase their names from the Book of Life, but I will announce before my Father and his angels that they are mine. – Revelation 3:5.

7. Because you have obeyed my command to persevere, I will protect you from the great time of testing that will come upon the whole world to test those who belong to this world. I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take away your crown. All who are victorious will become pillars in the Temple of my God, and they will never have to leave it. And I will write on them the name of my God, and they will be citizens in the city of my God—the new Jerusalem that comes down from heaven from my God. And I will also write on them my new name. Revelation 3: 10-12.

8. Those who are victorious will sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat with my Father on his throne.  Revelation 3:21.

The matter of victory cannot be taken for granted. Every believer must make every effort to make their calling and election sure. 2 Peter 1:9-11 (KJ21) 2 Peter 1;9-11 (AMP).The Christian life involves spiritual warfare from start to finish. It is a conflict against the flesh, the corruption and fashion of the world, and the host of darkness, led by the devil. The warfare is meant to distract and disuade us from following our righteous and holy God so that the human soul would be lost in all eternity. Galatians 5:17-21, 1 John 2: 15-17, Ephesians 6:12

If you wish to live a victorious Christian life and grow in your Christian Faith:

  • Pray to God in the name of Jesus daily, especially early in the morning and in the night. 1 Thessalonians 5:17Ephesians 6:18
  • Read the Bible daily, meditating on it and living by its unchanging principles. Joshua 1:8, James 1:22-25The Gospel of John is a good starter. You can read it from the beginning to the end, about a chapter a day. It has 21 chapters. There are many excellent Bible reading plans and inspiring devotionals to help you. • Fellowship with heavenly-minded, Bible-believing Christians. Different styles of worship and ministry appeal to different people but be sure that the fellowship or church you join teaches the Bible by studying it yourself. Acts 2:46, Hebrews 10:25Acts 17:11
  • Be conscious of the presence of Jesus every time and everywhere. Therefore, avoid anything that may displease Him while enjoying His presence and power at the same time. Jesus said, ” I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:201 Thessalonians 5:22, 1 Corinthians 10:31Hebrews 13:5
  • Share the testimony of your new life in Christ with others, encouraging them to do the same. 2 Corinthians 5: 17 – 21Mark 16:15
  • Live in the expectation of the sudden return of Jesus Christ to take His bride, everyone He has saved by His Blood, home from this world. But let me reveal to you a wonderful secret. We will not all die, but we will all be transformed! 52 It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we who are living will also be transformed. 1 Corinthians 15:51-52

Jesus is victorious! He conquered the world, death and hell. We have victory in Him! Praise the Lord! John 16:33, Matthew 28:18

Those who will be victorious, like the heroes of faith in Hebrews 11, “… would be too good for this world.”  Hebrews 11:38, so God has prepared a better place for them. Hebrews 11:16

May the Lord count us worthy to overcome and make it to His presence in all eternity in Jesus’ name!
